Terrorism does not happen in the name of God or Allah
Doing an analysis of an article as part of the examination of my course and chose the following (in Swedish), Terrorism sker inte i Guds eller Allahs namn by Carina Bergfeldt. She's written a great article in response to what happened in Paris yesterday, opposing all generalizations about muslims and the hatred that follows after a terror attack like yesterday.
A quote from the article that really breaks it down and shows how messed up the world is:
Put a weapon in the hand of a white man who kills 77 people in Norway, and we talk about the lone perpetrator's psyche, how it could go wrong.
Put a gun in the hand of a black man who kills two policemen in New York, and we discuss his skin color and publishes statistics on how blacks are overrepresented in prison.
Put weapons in the hands of three Islamists who commits a heinous deed, killing 12 journalists in Paris, and we talk about their religion.
When the perpetrator is a Muslim he does not apply to the same rules as when he is white.

Gbamo Nigeria!
Long time no see. We arrived in Sweden the day before NYE after an amazing trip to Nigeria where we spent almost three weeks. I really felt we had a lot of time to just spend time with family and friends and no stressing around. In those three weeks we managed to squeeze in everything from rock climbing, quality time with family, church, shopping, art galleries, Christmas day celebrations, fixing new hairstyle, wedding, traditional cuisine and so much more...
Here are a few photos from my massive album:
Ps: In church they have something called Thanksgiving, where a few families are welcome to the altar for blessings, our family happened to be one of those (Ma had prepared that) and the procedure is that you dance all the way from the entrance to the altar to traditional music, boy, was that a new experience for me AND if I already caused some attention, this added to that even more! But what a beautiful memory to cherish :)
