Lunch with Dad

Today has so far been very good. Started with lunch together with Dad, we had some really good Pulled pork sandwiches at Texas Longhorn. After that some chocolate chip cookies and coffees at the flat. Should be writing on my essay for the rest of the afternoon but it's difficult to find the motivation though...

Chicken sallad

Yesterday I made a delicious chicken sallad (from a recipe I found in Buffé magazine). Some of the ingredients were: Red cabbage, Red onion, Spinach, Pomegranate, Wheat berries and Salad cheese.
On the side I made a yummy mix made out of, Red pepper, Pumpkin seeds, Olive oil and salt.

All in all a very yummy and quite healthy dinner!

Rays of Sunshine

Two days of sunshine, I suppose one should be happy with that. The long grey days do have an impact on you and I'm starting to crave a change in weather now. It's within reach though, the birds have started to sing and the days are getting brighter - hurray!

“She turned to the sunlight
    And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
    "Winter is dead.”

Sick and tired of stupid people saying stupid shit!

I GET SO TIRED !

Time and again people speak about things they're not interested in nor understand the meaning of.
I scrolled a bit in my newsfeed and encountered a terrifying post by Blondinbella (that many young women have ' liked ') , where she among other things, expresses herself as follows on the topic of feminism:

"I'm not a feminist , and I think that feminists are a bunch of aggrieved white middle-class women sitting with red wine around a table and find issues to fight for . "

It scares me! That a young, successful woman with so many privileges speaks in such a way in 2014! But what I think is even sadder is the number of ' likes ' such posts get from young women in Sweden. I've had enough of all the misunderstandings and distorted definitions of what feminism actually stands for. Let me once and for all explain the basic ideology :

Belief in the social , political and economic equality between the sexes

How is that negative? What are people afraid of ? - To become more open -minded ? Be a better human being? To believe in a society where all are equal ?
Feminism is not saying that you should dress your son in a dress or that your child should be called " Hen " . Feminism advocates raising children under the same conditions where you do not put the kids in different compartments depending on their gender.

The comment Blondinbella wrote is a slap in the face to all women's movements in history, women who have dedicated their entire lives to fight for women's rights.

You as a woman in today's Sweden should feel deep gratitude that you have the right to:

Free abortion
Birth control pills
Right to vote
Equal inheritance as the men
The right to report sexual harassment ........ etc. etc.

An idea, open a history book , or maybe read a treatise on women's movements in Sweden and the World, instead of basing your opinion on something that Miss Blondinbella has written !

Thank you and Goodbye!

Grey Tuesday

I don't think it's possible for the weather to get more depressing than today. I'm dreaming of green grass, blue sky, birds singing and flowers blossoming...
